Industrial Visit Diaries 2017




SBS is well-known for its industry linkages, modern day electives, practical aspects in management education, and well-tuned placements. Recently, on 29th August (Tuesday) Industry Institute Linkage Cell (IILC) of SBS arranged an industrial visit to enable students of PGDM - I to correlate the learning imparted in class to the corporate practices. The visit was held at Texspin Bearings Ltd., Ranpur, which is well-known for its inclination to quality and its indigenous approach. Since the company is in the Business-to-business (B2B) segment, PGDM - III students having B2B elective also joined the visit. HR Manager of Texspin presented and interactive seminar about an overview of Texspin and its business alongside he also addressed the queries of students. The students then were taken to visit their manufacturing process to enable them to understand and learn the unique aspects of organization. The overall visit and Texspin's Indian approach to modern business was an excellent learning experience to students.

Students of PGDM and PGDM Communication - Batch 2016-18 visited Frascold India Pvt Ltd. on August 17,2017. 51 students along with 2 faculties- Dr. Nasheman Bandookwala and Prof Tirthank Shah visited unit. The company deals with compressors and students were introduced to the assembly line. Frascold India Pvt Ltd. works in collaboration with Italy based firms having 49% stake from its Indian arm- FIPL. Mr. Selvaraj.R - CEO at Frascold India Pvt Ltd. held an open discussion with students . The valuable inputs helped students relate classroom studies to real industry applications

PGDM- HR Specialization students of Batch 2016-2018 visited manufacturing setup of Windsor Machines Ltd., a global plastics processing machinery manufacturer on August 9, 2017 as a part of their curriculum. The officials gave students an overview about HR & IR practices being followed in the organization along with different HR policies. Mr. Steven Christian- Corporate HR at Windsor Machines Ltd held an open discussion with students to address their queries and gave a brief about how HR as a function is important for any organization.

Fresher's Party 2017 - Shanti Business School

Despite the presence of some clouds , the stars were out and shining at Shanti Business School this night. The Fresher's Party of SBS had come up with yet another unique theme : The Hearts And Spades. And true to this title, the event was full of Red Hearts and Black Spades. The Audience applauded the contestants of Mr. and Ms. Fresher for PGDM batch 2017-19 , PGDM-Communication batch 2017-19. 
This year’s theme of the party was “The Hearts and Spades” and every participant was dressed and domed to match the theme in order to demonstrate the oneness and cheerful camaraderie of SBS students. 

It was indeed a nostalgic night with DJ beats and delicious food augmented more curiosity and eagerness in the students for upcoming events at Shanti Business School.It was a visual delight,watching the freshmen students walk the "the walk of Fame". It was no Less than a Fashion Show.

The participants were asked incisive questions by their seniors, which were the part of overall assessment. Prem Kumar Singh (King of Spades ) said: "It was unexpected for me to win this title " where in Ayushi Jain ( Queen of Hearts ) said : " I got whatever I wish and I am so happy for winning this title "

Party was organized at Club O7 , which was decorated as a theme said The Hearts And Spades. The evening started with the couples setting ablaze the ramp , heading towards a Glam Photo shoot. It was delight to see them according to their Theme.The music and the lighting were the highlight of the evening as DJ of the evening compelled everyone to burn the dance floor. The party heralded an exciting year ahead. It marked the transition of the incoming batches from uninitiated freshmen to rightful members of a tradition that they will cherish and preserve. After that final selection round to select Mr. and Ms. Fresher for the year 2017 was organized which was judged by last year Title winners.  Mr. Prem Kumar Singh and Ms. Ayushi Jain were being honored with the title.

HIRE 2017- Mega Placement Drive at Shanti Business School

Shanti Business School [SBS] has ventured on an initiative (SBS HIRE) to connect recruiters who need manpower with the large number of job-seeking graduates. SBS is engaged in post-graduate management education; it has completed the placement of its PGDM graduates in March 2017.It has a unique record of 100 % placement year after year for the last six years since its inception. SBS has established good rapport with recruiters.

SBS thought it fit to leverage its rapport with recruiters for the benefit of the large number of job-seeking-graduates. The job fair is designed to create a platform where the needs of the recruiters and the job-seeking-graduates are matched.

Major recruiters participating in the fair are: IndusInd Bank,  Bharti Axa , VIvo, Khimji Ramdas [ for the brand of P&G & Britannia], e-clinical works, Extreme Fitness, Concept Hyundai [for the brands of Hyundai, Jeep & Harley Davidson], Karnavati Motors [for the brands Nissan, Mahindra & Mahindra, Volkswagen,  Renault, Triumph & Royal Enfield], Honda and Saffron [for the brands of Levi's, Benetton, Nike]. Recruitment will be taking place for all of these.

Convocation 2017- Shanti Business School



Shanti Business School (SBS) continues its endeavour of fostering change through education through its 7 year of existence. SBS offers the unique program of PGDM with a variety of elective-streams like Marketing, Finance, International Business, Communication, Human Resources, Decision Sciences, Business Analytics etc. In the 6 th Convocation held on 8 th April 2017 for the Class of 2015-17, 113 students were awarded to PG Diplomas in the presence of Shri Sean Chen, Director, CEO of VIVO as Chief Guest and Shri Mahendra N Patel, Chairman and Managing Director, Mamta Group of Industries as Guest of Honour.

The convocation was chaired by Shri Vedprakash Chiripal, Chairman, Board of Governors SBS. After the diplomas were handed over, Scholastic medals and certificates of excellence were
awarded to students for their outstanding performance.
SBS has achieved good placements this year also. VIVO made 22 offers, followed by S & P Global 13 offers. Bajaj Corp. Ltd., ITC, Khadim’s, & Bisleri International were first timers this year. Capital First Ltd., GTPL, Hathway, ICICI Securities, IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Standard Chartered, Tata Capital, TCS and Vodafone are some of the prominent recruiters.

SBS has also achieved good milestones in its 12-week Summer Internship program. Nestlé has selected six students for internship; Godrej & Boyce selected eight. Capital First, S & P Global, and Bajaj Finance are other internship companies. Many have shown interest in considering formal offers where internship performance is exemplary.
