Photography Competition & Exhibition at Shanti Communication School


Khalbali the Communication Club of Shanti Business School (PGDBM – Communication) organized a photography competition titled Colours of Life which found an active participation from the students and faculties of the Institute. Over 100 entries were received under 9 categories which enveloped the entire gamut of art reflected through photography ranging from Nature to creative photography. The received entries were shortlisted by the well known photographer Mr. Vivek Desai who has 20 years of experience in the field of photography and has published several coffee table books.

The exhibition was held to promote the young and vibrant talent on the campus and Mr. Parmanand Dalwadi, was the chief guest of the event. Mr. Dalwadi, a renowned photographer who has an extensive international experience and has been an Educational and the Management Board member at NID was the chief guest for the occasion who gave away the certificates to the winners and encouraged the students by talking about the growing scope of the field of photography and conducted a short sessions on “Essentials of Photography” where he shared his personal experiences and provided insights into viewing the shooting through the lens as he gave some handful tips. Mr. Dalwadi most poetically stated that, ‘photography is painting with light’. The faculty and students of PGDBM - Communication program were upbeat about the event and the association and involvement of esteemed photography professionals with the institute. The sentiment has received reciprocal response from the professionals, as Mr. Vivek Desai found the students talented and hardworking and said that the ‘institute has a bright future, judging by the way they have mapped their path’.

The senior academic team and management of SBS lent complete support and cooperation as they not only sponsored the event but were also attended the event to encourage and motivate the participants.

First batch of Shanti Business School offered highest pay pack of Rs 7.5L.

Anurag Srivastava of PGDM bagged the offer from Caterpillar Inc. 

The first batch of 77 postgraduates from Shanti Business School (SBS), Shela are all set to enter the corporate world after receiving lucrative offers from the industry. Companies with diverse profiles — from pharma, IT, banking, infrastructure, automobile, healthcare to business analysis, consulting and even advertising —carried out a head-hunting exercise for the 2010-12 batch at SBS. 

C A L Caterpillar Inc, a heavy-machines manufacturing company offered the highest salary of Rs 7.4 lakh to Anurag Srivastava, a PGDM passout. “I have been hired as advance analyst and I am very happy to bag this opportunity. The course curriculum helped me create a niche for myself and get the highest salary. Also the mentoring sessions prepare us for the corporate sector.” “The course at SBS is tailormade for the students and e n c o u r a g e s them to explore their interests from new perspectives. Our students get to select from more than 150 electives,” said Jay Sanghani, Head of Shanti E d u c a t i o n Initiatives.
Other companies that hired students included GVK EMRI 108, TCS, Elitecore Technologies, Snap Deal and Development Credit Bank.
